North of the Anacostia River and south of the U.S Capitol, the neighborhood in southeast DC affectionately known as the Navy Yard houses hundreds of Native Black Washingtonians and transplants from all over the world who have made this redeveloped area their home. 

 

NvyBlk serves as a virtual and in person meeting space connecting Black neighbors who may have never met, even as we live, work, exercise, shop, dine and socialize within steps of each other. 

 

NvyBlk’s mission is to make a positive impact and build an inclusive and supportive community of Black residents who are invested in the future of our neighborhood and each other.
